Beautiful parian portrait bust of German writer Goethe.
Made by the famous English company Robinson & Leadbetter, considered one of the best manufacturers of parian ware during the late 1800\'s. Parian is a semi-transparent highly vitrified form of bisque porcelain. Marked R&L on the back right shoulder, this bust is in excellent condition.
Measures 17 inches tall and about 10 inches wide
Some dark marks on back but no cracks or breaks in this very detailed piece. Given its age this bust is in remarkable condition.
