Antique (c1900) Royal Doulton cabinet plate ~ finest porcelain, extravagantly beautiful, featuring hand painted mums, in shades of pink and purple, withombre color blending; slender rambling stems, graceful leafy accents; tiny wispy blue flowers in the background.The stems anddozens of frilly petalsare outlined ingold, opal enameled flourishes at the tips of the petals. Scalloped, embossed rim, gilt trim.Apx 9 3/8\" diameter. Marked \"Royal Doulton England\" with a lion and crown logo, in red. Artist signed \"W. Slater\". Walter Slater was an esteemed artist who worked at the Doulton factory from 1880-1910 (he later became the Designer at Shelley).Please note there is a small chip on the under-side of the rim (see close-up), not visible on the front side; otherwise excellent condition.
