Antique Russian Carl Faberge Cigarette Case Box with 14ct Gold & Sapphire Clasp:

You are offerding for an antique limited edition cigarette box by Peter Carl Faberge, handmade from just two thin pieces of exquisitely burled birch found only in Karelian, Finland, which was part of the Russian Empire at the time. These were given away as a gift to the aristocrats of Imperial Russia, produced using the same wood tapped for a well-known but atypical Faberge egg. The tactile case opens and closes with a 14ct gold & cabochon sapphire thumbpiece (this is a later addition, taken from a Faberge gold or silver cigarette case & not original to this case)

Size: L 13cm x D 9cm x H to the hinge, a couple of hair-line cracks (see photos 3,5&8) otherwise in good condition, as pictured.
