Antique Russian silver & champlevé enamel cigarette case with an inscription inside.

The case is in good condition with some chips to the enameling inspots, but overall still in nice shape. The silver could use a professional polish as it\'s tarnished in the crevices. The gold wash inside is ingreat condition. There are no dents, breaks or repairs.

The case isstampedon both sides with a maker\'s mark -- which I believe reads \"BA\" in Cyrillic letters, in an oval cartouche. If that\'s correct,it stands for Vasily Agafonov of Moscow, active from 1895 to 1917.

It is also bears the first Kokoshnik mark (I can make out the 84, but theface and initials are barely legible).

The inscription is also hard to make out, though I\'m sure someone more familiar with the letters and type styles will be able to translate this.

The case measures 3 7/8\" by 2 1/2\" by 3/8\" and weighs 148 grams.
