Antique Russian Icon - Hand-Painted with Jesus, Two Angels
& 50 Saints c1775

RARE ANTIQUE HAND-PAINTED RUSSIAN ICON

This approximately 240 year old Russian Icon was created in about 1750. It has Jesus with two angels and a total of 50 saints. The painting in egg tempura is fine.

The icon is in good condition, with good patina. There are a few paint chips and dings. The size of the Icon is about 14 \" x 12 \". It is mounted on wood with spaces for two insert splints on the back - but the splints are missing. This Icon would make an excellentgift.

I spent about four years on business in Russia and was able to collect many antique Russian items. This Icon was purchased in Archangel, Russia, about 800 miles north of Moscow on the White Sea.
