This Russian ikon depicts the mother of God inKazanskaya style. The ikon is 8 ½ inches wide and 10 inches long. The ikon isbrass with silver plating. The haloes have red, white, dark and light blueenameling. Each corner has enameling with white, red, green and blue. There isa porcelain plate that reads Kazanskaya in Cyrillic. It also has two letters atthe end which may represent the maker. We believe this dates to the early 20thcentury. There is wear to the silver plating and very light enamel loss.
