Antique Russian Silver Signed, Hallmarked Sleeping Cat, Dated 1892:

This Russian silver cat has fine color, the silver darkened brilliantly with age. He is of silver, hallmarked 84 (84 zlotniks of silver per ounce, a standard Russian marking) under the letters AA and marked with cyrillic letters. The makers mark is for Grigorii Ivanov Serevrnikov,and the date plainly distinguishable as 1892.The assayers mark is Anatolii Apollonovich Artisibashev. Hemeasures 2 5/8 inches long, and weighs 25 grams. He has been in my personal collection for many years.
Around his neck, a ribbon is tied, with large bells. There are remnants of a gold wash under the cats\' nose, and in other unrubbed areas. The quality is unmistakable.
