Vinaigrette Chatelaine
Description
Rare and highly collectible English 19th century Victorian novelty scent bottle. Of gilt speckled opaline type glass in the shape and color of a Robin\'s Egg with sterling silver domed screw cap. With sterling chain and ring for hanging on a chatelaine in Victorian times.
SIZE: About 2 1/2\" long and about 1 3/8\" wide.
MAKER MARKS: Hallmarked for .925 sterling silver standard, London, and date code for 1887. Maker\'s mark \"SM\" in box for Sampson Mordan.
CONDITION: Antique item in OUTSTANDING condition. Just a little dryness/wear to cork inside the cap. No problems with the threading. It is hard to know exactly how much gilt speckling was on the glass originally. It is possible that there may be some wear through the belly of the egg where your fingers would naturally hold the bottle.
