This listing is for a vintage STERLING Silver Vermeil (gold wash on the silver) DINNER BELL that was made by Shiebler.
This bell has what I would describe as an AESTHETIC/Art Deco Design with hints of an Oriental influence. -see images.
This item was recently purchased from an estate.

SPECIFICATIONS:

This is a USED/PRE-OWNED Item -See Below for Condition Report.

Material: Sterling silver Vermeil (remnants of a faint gold wash on the silver)

Signed: This item is marked with the Shiebler Hallmark (an S with a pair of wings),
George W. Shiebler & Co was in business in NY, NY from c1876-1910 or so.

This bell is also marked STERLING and a pattern number of 2949 -see images.

Dimensions: This item measures about 3 1/8\" tall and this bell measures about 2 7/16\" or so in diameter at the largest points.

Weight: 61.7 Grams

Condition:
This item is in vintage condition with some signs of age/wear and use.

The silver has several small dents/dimples, wear and imperfections in some areas.
There is a \'ring\' of small dimples around the bell that appears to have been made by the \'clapper\' when the bell was rung. --see images.
There are also some other small dings, dimples and wear on the silver of this bell.
The bell also has a few scratches, scuffs/nicks etc. in some areas.

There is wear to the vermeil gold wash on the silver -areas where the gold is worn thin, as well as areas where the gold is worn away -exposing the silver below.
The silver also has patina, tarnish etc. on it in some areas.

All in all, I would have to say that this item is in decent vintage condition with some signs of age/wear and use.-
