This is a fine quality silver mounted leather purse. The silver mounts in the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil manner.Of German manufacture but also with English Sterling silver marks and with a London maker\'s mark who would have retailed it in the UK.It opens to reveal one side with a concertina section for visiting cards and stamps.The other side with concertina compartments for bank notes and an inner coin purse also with an address book/note book held in place with a slim silver plated pencil/porte de crayon. Made of fine mauve coloured leather.The silver mount to one side with German assay mark of crown & crescent, 925 and maker\'s mark L.K. The other side with English silver hallmarks and date letter for 1899-1900 and maker\'s mark for Alexander Clark Manufacturing Co.There is a finger ring attached to the chain with a sliding ball which closes the purse. The ring is also marked - I believe the chain and ball are also silver. The pencil holder and inner catch to the coin purse are silver plated.In remarkably good condition for age but with minor wear and some fading to the exterior. The note book is probably an old replacement (these may have been replaced from time to time when full) - see photos or ask questions.Size approx 4.3/8in x 3.3/8in (11.2 x 8.5cm).
