I recently acquired a deceased collector\'s militaria collection, and this piece was in the grouping.

Vintage Khanjar Dagger with belt and attached filigree powder boxes, sheath, and chains. Dagger measures 12\" long (30.5cm), and the blade is 2.6\" wide (6.25cm). Handle is entirely covered in intricately workedmetal, as well as the front of the sheath. Back of sheath is of tanned leather. The dagger is not marked as to the maker or silver content, but a jeweler stated that thehandle covering and sheathis of a silver based composite.

Belt is of a homemade design, with heavy wire bullion thread throughout. Beautiful intricate pattern on the front, with a deep bluematerial on the verso. Belt measures 32\" long (80cm), and 4\" wide (10cm). Attached to the belt are the sheath for the dagger, as well as four small metal powder containers. The lid to one of the small containers has been lost to history. Blade edge has lost it\'s sharpness through the years.

As for condition, the piece is in old, heavily used condition. The belt has worn areas, with strings being broken and material worn through.Appears tobe a very old piece, but I do not have the provenance of the knife.
