ANTIQUE SOLID SILVERCALLING CARD CASEFully hallmarked for BIRMINGHAM 1912and with the maker`s mark - J R, forJOHN ROSE of Hockley street, Birmingham.-----------------This is a superb card case, in really great condition,and beautifully decorated to both sides with circlesof scrolling foliage.There is a circular cartouche on the centre of the frontwith the initials - FH.Notice that it is exactly the correct size for the modernsize of debit or credit card - see pic.8.-----------------Opened with a spring loaded thumb push to the centre of the opening side.-----------------The full set of hallmarks are shown - pic.4,and are arranged on the back, parallel to the hinge -see pics. 3 & 5.An incomplete set can be seen on the front, next to the cartouche,just the Birmingham lion is missing.------------------The only fault is the discolour to the leather.Length:- 96 millimetres / 3.75 inches.Width:- 68 mms. / 2.7 ins.Depth:- 16.5 mms. / 0.65 ins.Gross weight:- 74.7 grams / 2.4 ounces.
