The fur was left to protect major organs and joints while swimming in gold waters. Unknown maker, but according to marks4antiques.com, the gold anchor on the base is a documented and confirmed, but unregistered decorator\'s mark, prominently displayed on the figurines (not on bottom) from Dresden or Berlin Germany ca 1880\'s - 1920\'s.Good to very good antique estate condition. Bird has chip on wing tip. Dog\'s tail has lost the encrusted porcelain. Some wear to gold trim. SOLD AS IS.
