An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver biscuit box made by Asprey & Co Ltd - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional George V sterling silver biscuit box has a plain circular form.

The surface of this antique biscuit box is plain and encircled with bands of applied reed decoration.

This impressive box is fitted with a fine and impressive applied scroll and swag decorated hinged handle to either side.

The box is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover encircled with a further band of reed decoration and featuring a shaped thumbpiece to the anterior edge.

This impressive piece is supported by four plain incurved bracket style feet.

This antique biscuit box is fitted to the original and impressive hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, which features a push fit catch.

The interior of the presentation box bears the mark ‘Asprey, 166. Bond St, London’ beneath a coronet.

This exceptional example of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Asprey & Co Ltd, and bears the retailer’s mark ‘Asprey, London’ to the underside.

Condition

This antique biscuit box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The presentation box does not secure closed with the push fit catch, however the box is in excellent condition in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
