Main Description

This fine antique George V sterling silver coffee jug has a plain rectangular tapering panelled form onto a swept collet foot, in the Art Deco style.

The surface of the body is plain with panelled shoulders and embellished with an applied geometric motif, in the Art Deco style, to the upper rim of either side.

This fine coffee jug is fitted with a plain flush hinged hallmarked cover; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.

The cover is surmounted with the original panelled carved wood and sterling silver finial, secured to the interior of the cover by a wing nut; the wooden portion of the finial reflects the same shape as that of the body.

The coffee jug retains the original Art Deco style carved wood handle with plain sterling silver sockets.

This fine coffee jug was crafted in the same style and by the same maker to the teapot W9416; they would sit very well together.

Condition

This antique coffee jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The coffee jug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the jug and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique teaware.
