This Antique Christening Cup or Mug measuresapproximately 3 3/8 inchesor 86 mm across from the handle to the front rim of the lower body by 2 1/4 inches or 57 mm acrossthe width or diameterof its upper rim, it is 2 3/8 inches or 60 mm across the width or diameter of its foot rim from side to side anditstands a fraction over 2 3/4 inches or 72 mm tallto thetop of its upper rim.
The cup or mug is made from 81 grams of sterling silver that has been internally gilded or gold plated in a circular shape with slightly tapering sides and it stands on a raised circular foot rim, the cup of mug has a D shape handle on the side of its body that has been wonderfully engrave decorated with swags of stylized flowers and foliage that are under a decorative upper band, the cup or mug is Not engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below and it has an approximate 7 fluid ounce or 200 ml liquid capacity, the side of the upper body has beenimpressed witha full set of English sterling silver hallmarks that readas follows,

Thecondition is used and fairly good for its age.
The ChristeningCup or Mug hasNo Large Dents, No Splits, No Cracks and No Holes that I can find, the cup stands straight, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the cup holds liquid without leaking, the internal gilding is a good colour with some minimal wear, the silver hallmark is still clearly legible although as the cup or mug is a used antique it does have some small shallow dents in its body and handle along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use, it has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would enhance it greatly. Personally I think that this antique christening cup or mug can still be used today and that it would makea superb gift or addition to any cabinet collection, Ialso think that it has a delightful look about it considering thatit's almost 90 years old.
Please Note that any dark shadows in the images on this cup are just reflections that could not be avoided during photography.
