An exceptional 1-Gallon Pantry Jar, Mid-Altantic or Southern US, 19thC. Straight-sided, cylindrical form with finely-tooled shoulder and rim. Decorated about the body with a very unusual incised and coggled decoration, and covered in a mineral or Albany Slip glaze. I have no further information on this jar, but would consider it quite rare and possibly unique. Updates will be posted if anyone would like to narrow down the specific region of origin or perhaps identify the maker for this piece.Condition: Slight wear and a shallow chip on the base; otherwise Excellent.
