Description

c.1900 T&V (Tresseman & Vogt) Limoges centerpiece bowl. This hard to find form features an elegant embossed rim and is factory (not amateur) decorated with purple flowers, violets I believe. I have seen some plates in this pattern over the years, but this is the first time I have been this large bowl. It would be lovely as a centerpiece bowl/ferner, fruit bowl or simply for display. It bears the retailing mark of Higgins & Seiter, NYC, considered the foremost china and glass emporium of its day. They were known tofeature the highest quality and costliest home goods imported from Europe.

SIZE: About 12\" wide, 8 3/8\" deep and about 5 1/8\" tall.

MARKS: Green underglaze porcelain white ware maker back stamp and red bell factory overglazedecorating mark and retailer mark.These T&Vmarks were in use approximately 1892-1907.

CONDITION: Antique item is great condition. No cracks, no chips, no hairlines. Very high quality porcelain with a substantial hand. All I see are a fewvery tiny dots/pops in the porcelain, most if not all as made. The decoration is great condition.All I can see is a small scratch ontwo violets in the interior of the bowl as shown in photo. Please scan down and see enlarged photos below.
