Lovely piece of dore finished bronze made by Tiffany Studiosin the first part of the 20th century. This pedestal plate or compote has a lovelypebbled texture that gives a beautiful rich quality to the dore finish that wasapplied to the surface. The low foot hasan elegant curve that seems to have a secret beauty as it is hidden beneath theumbrella of the plate. The rim of thepiece is decorated with a stylized spiraling meander pattern that gives theimpression of a Greek Key. Despite theage of the piece, the design and decoration have a contemporary feel that wouldnot be out of place in a modern home.The piece is beautifully finished as one would expect from the productof the Tiffany furnaces.

The dish is marked on the bottom with the Tiffany StudiosNew York stamp as well as the model number 1731. The compote measures 8” in diameter and 1 1/4”tall. The piece is in overall good, butthere is significant wear to the dore finish on the top surface and there seemto be traces of corrosion beginning in some of the recessed areas. This may actually be surface residue of somesort, but I have not attempted to clean it for fear of damaging the finish more.
