Antique Victorian Brooch

This is such a beautiful romantic brooch with a hidden meaning - the pictures do not do itjustice, it\'s a beautiful colour and the workmanship is superb - very fine.

The three bar design is typical ofthe 1870\'s, but what isespecially nice about this piece is the beautifully engraves central boss thatis enamelled with a blue Forget-me-not flower.

The Victorians were great romantics and fans of Symbolism.Theyused it prolifically in jewellery and gave little love tokens withsecret meanings where words could not be spoken. There was even abook,The Language of Flowers that gave each flower a special meaning.

Forget-me-nots were extremely popular and meant True Love &Memories.

This is a really pretty and romantic brooch, very well made from15ct buttery yellow gold and as I said the pictures really can\'t convey justhow pretty this is in real life.
