A stunning Victorian 15ct Gold Ruby & Pearl set Ring, which dates to 1891(please seethe detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of theitem\'s description).
This wonderful antique ring, which weighs 2.9 grams, has a plain tapered shank & beautifully carved shoulders decorated with ornate scroll motifs leading to the gem set gallery. The ring is set centrally with a Pearl flanked at either side by a Ruby & a smaller Pearl in a beautiful elliptical setting.
As shown, this fine quality ring is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, confirming that it is made from solid 15ct Gold and that it was assayed in 1891. The ring measuresapprox\' 6.5mm wide across the setting tapering to approx\' 2.5mm at the back for thewearer\'scomfort.
Overall the ring is in great condition with only wear commensurate with age, as shown. On close inspection with a loupe, one of the Rubies has been replaced historically as it is a different cut, but it is a good match in terms of colour, etc and it isn\'t really noticeable and only mentioning for descriptivecompleteness.
Thering issized as a UK Ring Size \'O 1/2\',whichequates to a US Ring Size \'7 1/2\';aswith almost all vintage rings the band is slightly ovalized i.e it is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gauge depending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring when worn.
