Antique Victorian eyelet lace bodice possibly Civil War era
Fashioned of a homespun cotton; very loose weave
Eyelet lace is handmade on this fabric... Absolutely sensational textile!!
Piece has an early hook and eye closure; there are modern snaps also which someone had sewn on.
There is also a little pocket on the inside for change I would think.
I am seeing a lot of hand stitching in the construction of this piece; but there is some machine stitching also... perhaps later added.
Condition is good. No holes, No stains, light wear.
