This piece is unique for its full size and beautiful floral design that is the same on the front and back of the piece. The design depicts a little bunch of violets which in Victorian times symbolized innocence (white violets) or that thoughts were occupied with love (purple violets). The design is in a slight relief from the base and is very prettily rendered and detailed. There are no dents to the silver and very little surface scratching - the piece has a beautiful patina that shows off the design. The inside of the pendant has its original mirror and fabric lined panel. The mirror has its original frame which could also be used to secure a photo if you should so choose. There is some wear to the mirror along the edges - which comes from the back of the mirror - there are no chips or cracks to the glass. The piece is a very full size at over 3/8\" thick and has a substantial weight and feel. Overall this is a finely designed and charming, sterling silver violet mirror pendant, that was made in France during the Victorian era and is in Very good condition.
