A sublimely beautiful jewel of the very finest quality; all crafted in 9ct Gold, which would have been owned by a very wealthy Victorian Lady(please study the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of this item\'s description).
Thisbeautifulpiece of fine Victorian 9ct Gold Jewellery, which can be worn as a pendant (as shown) or as a brooch, is set with a large oval faceted Amethyst in the centre, surrounded by fine Seed Pearls. The outer bezel surrounding this beautiful display is setalternatelywith eight round faceted Amethysts and fine Seed Pearls. The Holbein terminates with a pear shaped Amethyst drop to create a piece of jewellery that is eminently wearable and yet at the same time sumptuouslybeautiful.
The overall condition of this piece is superb with only some wear to the surface of the Pearls visible when viewed through a loupe, which is wholly commensurate with age.
Asyou would expect with a jewel of this quality, it is marked on the reverse (see fifth & sixth photographs) confirming that it is made from solid 9ct Gold.This stunning jewel has the following dimensions: 50mm long (including bail and drop); 27mm wide; and it weighs 13.4 grams including the chain.
The Holbein is complete in a vintage fitted case, and it comes complete with a beautiful antique 21 1/2 inch or 54.5 cm long 9ct Gold Chain, which is complete with it\'s original barrel clasp (as shown in the photograph); making this impressive jewel ready to wear.
