A fineAntique Victorian 9ct Gold Fob Medal of Pierced Shield Shape, which dates to 1897/98 and is in good condition, as shown, in an Antique Case(please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This superb Victorian Shield Shaped Fob/Medal, which weighs 8.7 grams, has pierced decoration and has also been embellished with hand chased floral & foliate decoration.To the centre there is a vacant Shield Shaped Cartouche in Rose Gold, which complements the Rose Gold Hanging Loop, while the reverse side is plain with no design. The Medal is stamped verso with a maker\'s mark \'CE&FD\' for the highly respected firm of Constantine & Floyd together with a full British Hallmarkas shown, confirming that it is made from solid 9ct Gold i.e. it is not gold plated and that it was assayed in Birmingham in 1897/98.
The Medal measures approx\' 49.0mm long (including the hanging loop) by approx\' 28.0mm wide. Overall itis in good condition, as shown, with some scratches to the reverse where it may have been tested historically. As expected the Case, which has no retailer\'s name shows a fair amount of wear & tear, but it has a good hinge & the push button clasp works perfectly making it a nice addition to the stunning Medal.
