A beautiful original Victorian Box. I believe the exotic wood is Amboyna rather than Burr-Walnut. The size is bigger than most glove boxes so this could be for a gentlemans gloves or cigars. Or would be excellent for trinkets such as long bead necklaces. There is a handle to the top and the inside has the original paper lining which has a light wood-grain effect. The box measures just under 12 inches (30.2cm) long and just under 5 inches (12.5cm) back to front and 2 7/8 inches (7.4cm) high. In good condition with just a few stain spots to the interior. Excellent and attractive piece of woodenware.
