Antique Victorian Aesthetic Solid Silver Oriental Bird Locket Brooch:

This lovely solid silver brooch dates from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period and has an etched picture of an oriental bird (possibly a stork or crane) plus some foliage. It measures approx 3.5cm in diameter, weighs 6.1g and fastens with a c-clasp.It has no markings but tests positive for silver.I belive originally there would have been glass covering the back so that a photo or lock of hair could be placed inside.The hinge is nice and tight and the pin fastens well in the clasp.Sadly it has several light scratches on the front (see photo 6) but these may come out. There are also a couple of scratches on the back from being tested for silver plus some other marks (see photos 3 and 4).It also has a slight dent in the front (see photo 5).This item will be sent in a cardboard jewellery box via either Signed For or International tracked and Signed for peace of mind.
