This gorgeous antique Victorian cross pendant was made sometime during 1870-1900. The cross is made up of 9 karat gold and is accented with beautiful engraving of leaves and flourishing scrolls. I love how the tendrils of the leaves and vine engraving decorate the cross with a feminine style. The pendant measures 1.90\" long x 0.94\" wide. The pendant is marked 375 for 9kt gold, which is common for the time period. Also has manufacturer\'s initials and the anchor mark for Birmingham.

The Victorian meaning attached to the ivy and its flowers are friendship and affection as well as wedded love and fidelity. The trailing ivy was also a symbol of remembrance.
