This is a fantastic antique old victorian piece soooo unique I am not quite sure what it is ........I believe this is an antique cut steel hair barette or clip most likely made in France but not marked as such. The piece has a oval shaped or \"rounded\" cut steel openwork piece in the front with a wide metal latch on the backside. Each beaded piece is riveted and has a corsette style filigree or openwork weave with two scroll hearts on the top.

Or.......Perhaps it was used to adorn the sash of a dress or collar or cape? Nontheless this period jewelry piece is in excellent condition with ever so slight surface wear to the cut steel marcasite looking beadwork. Great sparkle! Super patina!
