Antique Victorian etui sewing kit sewing case and sewing tools - scissors thimble stiletto, bodkin and needle case. Walnut, gilt and metal. Made circa 1850, France.

Measurements: walnut is approx 45mm long on the outside. Total length of scissors approx 30mm. Note: ruler in \'photos is in inches.

Novelty sewing case and gilded sewing tools created inside a real walnut. The two sides mounted and securely hinged in gilt metal. The upper half is lined with silk - lovely peachy red with matching velvet fitted bottom. Accommodates 5 parts: tiny pair of scissors, thimble, bodkin, stiletto and needle case. Gilt with fine and delicate repousse scrolling decoration.

Marks: none, as is to be expected.

Condition: good considering the age and delicacy of the pieces. The scissors (which works well) has a bit of darkening, clearly shown in the \'photos. THere is a pin-prick hole and tiny minor patches of discoloration on the silk upper lining.
