Here is an Antique Victorian Silver Plate Epergne/Vase. It features a figure of THUMBELINA. She is a baby curled up in a frond eating a small apple. The metal holder is marked on the bottom Aurora Silver Plate Manufacturing Company 5ll Warranted Triple Plate. It looks like there are a couple of palm leaves missing from two stems in the backside of the holder. The silver plating has worn away. The circular base is dented on one area making it slightly out of round. There is a beautiful original vase that fits in the holder. It is a thick glass rod with a glass ball and then a flared vase that has a wheel cut design . There is a small chip at the bottom of the glass rod. There is a slightly brownish tinge at the top of the vase (see Photos) from residue. It is really amazing that the vase has survived for over 125 years. The vase measures approx. 5 5/8\" in height including the glass rod. The vase part measures approx. 3\" in height. The flared top of the vase measures approx. 1 7/8\" in diameter. The silver-plate holder measures approx. 4 1/2\" in height. Thumbelina measures approx. 1 1/4\" in height. This is an antique dating to c. 1880. Please email with questions.
