A truly stunning Antique French Gold Graduated Ruby & Diamond set Crescent Brooch c1895, which is approx\' 5.4cms long by approx\' 9.0mm wide(please study the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful Antique Brooch,which weighs 7.4 grams, is set with a central row of old-cut & rose-cut Diamonds (approx\' 0.45cts in total) between two rows of oval Rubies (estimated total weight 1.10cts).
Typical of the period this fine quality French Ruby& Diamond Brooch is stamped with a French Eagle\'s Head control mark on the clasp and the pin is also stamped with a maker\'s mark, as shown.
Overall the Broochis in great condition, as shown; commensurate with age when viewed through a loupe thegold-workshows light surface scratches and some gems have chips & scratches, but they are not really visible to the naked eye & won\'t be noticed when the Brooch is worn - so more mentioning for descriptive completeness.
The Brooch comes in an Antique Case lined with black velvet & cream satin lining to the inside of the lid bearing the name of F. J. Tallett, Jeweller, Pembroke Dock. The Case is in good overall condition with expected wear to the surface (scuffs to the exterior) commensurate with age.
