This is an absolutely superb quality antique hallmarked sterling silver four piece teaset comprising of a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and jug. The teapot is hallmarked for London 1856 with the silversmiths mark for George Ivory, the coffee pot is London 1859 by George Ivory and the Jug and bowl are both London 1860 with the silversmiths mark for Elizabeth Ivory who took over from George and ran the business till 1861. The teapot measures 9\" (23 cms) across including the handle x 5 1/2\" (14 cms) x 6 3/4\" (17 cms) tall to the top of the lid, the coffee pot is 8 3/4\"(22 cms) across from handle to spout x 9\"(23 cms) tall, the jug is 5\" (12.5 cms) across from handle to tip of spout x 4 1/2\" (11.5 cms) tall to the top of the spout and the sugar bowl is 7 1/4\" (18 cms) across including the handles x 4 1/4\" (11 cms) high to the rim. All four items are in excellent condition with no dings or dents and the coffee, sugarbowl and jug all show a matching armorial crest. They weigh a total of 1923 grams which gives you an idea of the quality and the teapot has a 2 pint capacity and the coffee has a 2 1/2\" pint capacity. This is a gorgeous set in superb condition and would make a great addition to any collection.
