Antique Victorian Jewelry Box Vermeil with Cameo Vintage Gold Gilt Bronze:

This is a very lovely ornate vermeil jewelry box, made by the Friedman Silver Company of Brooklyn, New York. The round box measures 4½ inches in diameter and stands 2¾ inches high. There is an insignia on the bottom along with the letters F S Co and the numbers 6780. The lovely floral cameo on the top is surrounded by an intricate vermeil diamond-shaped border, and detailed metalwork all around the box. A beautiful turquoise gemstone adorns the front. The inside is lined with velvet. Condition of the outside of the box is excellent, with no dents, and just one tiny area of oxidation on the side of the lid; please see photograph. The cloth lining has some areas of discoloration consistent with age, but no holes or tears. The hinge is in excellent condition, and this jewelry box is still very useable for holding your treasures. This box would make a stunning and memorable gift for anyone who collects unique boxes or Victorian memorabilia.
