Dusty rose colored plush lining (it looks like velour and may have been replaced, I can\'t tell for sure) with all the dresser accessories pictured including 2 buttonhooks, two lidded boxes with screw tops, tongs and assorted vanity tools.

Because of the age of the items, they are being sold \"as is\".  The box is in very good, clean, odor-free condition, hinges and latch work fine, no bumps or loss of surface. Please use the photo enlargement feature provided as a part of the description.  Measures 17” by 10” at the base and approx. 5-1/2” tall at the back.  There is some writing on the underside-to me it looks like it says DEC. 25 1921-please see photo enlargement.

The Gibson Girl image began appearing in the 1890’s and was the personification of the feminine ideal of beauty portrayed by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson during a period of 20 years that spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the United States and Canada.   Images of her epitomized the era’s preoccupation with youthful features and ephemeral beauty.  Her neck was thin and her hair piled high upon her head in the contemporary bouffant, pompadour and chignon (water fall of curls) fashions.

The statuesque, narrow-waisted ideal feminine figure was portrayed as being at ease and stylish.
