This vintage silverplate cheese or butter dish is signed Meriden B Company 4977. It is about 8-1/2 inches handle to handle and 7-1/2\" or so to the top of the finial. The body of the dish is about 5-1/2 inches wide.

It has some light metal wear and moderate tarnish to the outside. The inside bottoms show pitting and wear (see my last 2 pics below).
