Mappin & Webb (without Ltd.) was only used in the period of 1863 to 1898. This dates the item to the second half of the 19th century.* The Silver has numerous Marks, and some items in the set look like some have been polished away, but as no visible Hallmarks, I have to say these must be Plate, although they look and feel more like solid.The pin from the lid hinge has detached, but sits OK without and easily replaced with a sterling silver wire pin. See photo\'s to explain further. Not an issue and if I find when packing I will include.THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL ITEM - as are the other matching Mappin & Webb items. The photo\'s show all the item without a recent polish as the \"experts\" are always saying not to clean items too regularly. <- That AND the fact I haven\'t got any Silver Polish. ;)I have included a photo that shows several items on the tray - these are all on at present, but this listing is only for the stated tray - the mentioned image is there for illustration purposes only.This would make a lovely gift to someone with the festive season soon upon us.Please look carefully at all the photo\'s provided and do all your own research as the item is sold as seen and due to price returns aren\'t accepted.I pack well and usually send items like this via Hermes and get them into the system within a few days.
