Victorian Pair of 9ct Gold Turquoise & Pearl Earrings c1895
This is a stunning pair of Victorian 9ct Gold Earrings c1895, which have articulated drops of circular form set with Cabochon Turquoise surrounded by Seed Pearls(please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
Each Earring consists of a Rose Gold Hook with ball decoration to the terminal supporting a Yellow Gold Drop centrally set with a cabochon-cut Turquoise surrounded by eight Pearls - all set in cut-back settings, which would suggest that the drops may be from the early Victorian period and have been converted with loops to hang from the hook fittings in the lateNineteenth Century.Victorian Goldsmiths were particularly adept at using Georgian & early Victorian pieces of jewellery to fashion new creations.(soft solder is visible on the reverse of each earring where this has been done).
These wonderful 19th Century Earrings are in great condition, with wear commensurate with age, as shown. Typical of the period they are unmarked but they are guaranteed to be made from 9ct Gold as described.Needless to say they look absolutely fabulous when worn and are sure to attract many admiring glances.
These fine quality little Victorian Earrings, which weigh 2.1 grams for the pair, have a drop of approx\' 1.6cms and the Turquoise & Pearl set circular drop has a diameter of approx\' 9mm. They come in their original tooled leather covered fitted case, which is in superb condition with bluevelvetlining and cream silk satin lining inside the lid printed with the retailer\'s name: Percy Webster, 37 Gt Portland Street, London. Percy Webster was internationallyrenowned as one of the world\'s leading experts on antique timepieces but he also ran asuccessfulbusiness dealing in all types of jewellery.
In summary, a wonderful pair of late 19th Century 9ct Gold Turquoise & Seed Pearl Earrings, which date to c1895 - they arequitesimplysublime.
