For your consideration is a beautiful, antique English sewing etui, or tool kit, from the Victorian era. The lovely antique box is wood base, covered in a black textured faux leather with tooled gilding. The inside lid is lined with padded purple silk. The inside bottom is lined in gorgeous, matching deep purple velvet with velvet loops for the various tools. There is cord trim around the edges. It even has a silk thimble holder.
Inside the etui are nestled some very interesting needlework notions, such as a carved ox bone needle case, bodkins, tiny crochet hooks, stilettos including a couple carved of ox bone, a button hook, and a thimble (free of holes or dents, 1.5cm in diameter). There are three beautiful old needle packets. Even the packaging is gorgeous! As expected considering its age, there is some minor wear, and the front clasp is missing, and so it has been priced accordingly. It measures approx. 6.25\" x 4\" x 1\".
