I recently purchased a small collection of antique greeting cards. From what I can ascertain, it seems that the recipient, Blanche Meier was a young lady who immigrated from Germany to the USA. Many of the cards in the collection are in German and may be from before she immigrated or perhaps from friends or family still living in Germany. I suspect though, that she saved the cards from her childhood in Germany and continued saving cards once she was living in the USA.This listing is for a New Year\'s card that has a real photo printed on the front- my guess is that this is Blanche\'s little cousin who was still living in German around the turn of the century. All of the sentiments are in German and there is written on the inside the signatures (in ink) of the Uncle, the Aunt and Cousin Jakob. Around the portrait is heavy gold ink and embossing. Elegant and very expensive and Luxe looking.The card still retains its bright green ribbon!There is a printed name of manufacturer (?) Regina on the bottom of the last page.This measures 4-1/2 by 2-5/8\".Please be sure to look at my other listings for more wonderful pieces from this collection.
