Part of a 30 year collection of vintage and antique clothing,fabric,and textiles.Antique late Victorian silk dress, I had difficulty capturing the true shade, it is a lustrous silk satin in a true rich copper shade !! Fabric is strong, dress is very wearable !! High boned collar in dotted net lace, trimmed in a pale gold 2 1/2\" lace with heavy padded satin stitch design,trim also extends to back of gown. Also at the bodice,an ornate copper beaded applique,as shown,(some missing tassels) see pics. The sleeves are also trimmed in lace.The bodice features a wide collar that extends past the top of sleeve, which extends to the back and ends at the waist back with an extended 14\" sash which drapes into the skirt. Hook and eye closure all the way down the back, it has a 3\" wide self fabric waist band, a side vertical pleated panel, skirt has a back inverted center pleat. Gown construction machine seamed, all finish work done by hand. Measurements, taken flat, hook and eye closure fastened: BUST: 32\"HI COLLAR OPENING 10\"SHOULDER :taken from shoulder seam to seam 14 1/2\" SLEEVE : taken from top of shoulder at seam 20 1/2\" to include 6\" lace trimWAIST: 28\" MEASURING FROM SHOULDER SEAM TO WAIST : 14 1/2\"HIP 40\" MEASURING FROM WAIST TO HEM EDGE 39\"HEM SWEEP : 96\"CONDITION : VERY GOOD.. now I get to be your eyes, and I am quite picky. See pics of underarms,some darkening, no signs of rot, and NO ODOR..so often found in vintage/antique clothing. The dress has no fading. I have not been able to capture true deep shade of copper. Note the net lace at neckline, there are 2 layers, inner layer hase a small hole,probably from hook catching.. can take a few stitches to fix.. there is a spotting at the front side of bodice, I don\'t know what it is,appears to be a surface substance, have not tried to remove. The beaded piece has tassels missing, I would just remove all of the tassels, the applique is beautiful enough without.. I see approx. 5 tiny holes near the skirt bottom, look like burn marks and fold into the skirt..not even big enough to photograph.. there may be a few hooks and eyes that need a few stitches. The quality and color silk is beautiful, the size is good, quite elegant but easy to wear,and it has been very well stored.
