This Large and Substantial Antique Victorian, late 19th Century Pin is a Scottish Specimen Brooch showing 8 different types of Agate. Just Gorgeous ~ this Beautifully made Brooch measures 2\" high, 2-1/2\" wide and 3/4\" deep measuring from the top of the Citrine stone on top to the stem on the back. The Scalloped Silver border that forms the edge of the Brooch is chased with scrolling etching as is the large prongs that hold the Large, Oval center Citrine. The oval shaped Citrine Stone measures approximately 13/16\" long by 11/16\" wide. The Citrine has a Flat top with a geometrical cut, Faceted, Beveled edge and a domed shapedand Faceted Cutbottom.
This Estate Brooch is unmarked but is at least 800 Silver, typical for Brooches of this Period. On the back is an open \"C\" style clasp and a loop mount with a tether Chain with a tiny Safety Style Pin for added Security.
Please Read: The Center Citrine is Damaged around the edge of the Stone. Our best photo of this area is the last photo where you can see the chip on the edge. There is a large Inclusion in the inside of the Citrine that we have shown in photos 9 and 10. This inclusion does not translate to the outer surfaces as a crack. All of the surrounding SpecimenStones are in Excellent Condition. One Prong is damaged and you can see this in our 2nd and 3rd Photos at the 4 o\'Clock position and at the 6 o\'clock position in our 5th Photo and last Photo. Under a jewelers loupe we see that there is also a 1/16\" piece of Silver Frame that is missing from the bottom edge of one of the stones that can be seen at the 5 o\'clock position in our 2nd and 3rd Photographs.
