Sterling Silver Coffee Pot - Antique Victorian

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver coffee pot has a baluster shaped form to a plain circular collet foot.

The lower portion of the body of this large coffee pot is embellished with fine and impressive bright cut engraved potted floral designs accented with angular, scrolling and lobed motifs with a suspended swag and bead ornamentation.

The decoration to either side of the body incorporates a central bordered oval cartouche; one remaining vacant and the other displaying out of a coronet a demi lion rampant.

The upper portion of the body is ornamented with further floral motifs and scrolling strapwork style designs.

This Victorian coffee pot retains the original flush hinged hallmarked cover encircled with further scrolling geometric and floral motifs; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.

The cover is surmounted with the original impressive chased decorated hallmarked sterling silver finial; secured to the interior with a wing nut.

This fine Victorian coffeepot is fitted with the original hallmarked rounded handle with plain thumbpiece embellished with a bright cut engraved leaf design.

The fine and impressive panelled swan necked spout is ornamented with floral and foliate decoration to either side and applied designs to the shaped socket and lip.

Condition

This antique coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover, handle and finial are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian to top of finial 24cm/9.4\"
