Thisquaint antique sterling silver dard case purse was manufactured by the Whiting Manufacturing Co. and is inscribed \"To My Wife Dec 11th 1879.\" The hinge is strong, opens and shuts correctly. It is hallmarked on the inside of the hinge W, horse symbol(Whiting), Sterling & 16J. Very good antique condition with some surface scratches & a very hard to notice small dent by one end of the chain. Measures 3 1/2\" tall x 2 3/8\" wide x 3/8\". Chain is approximately 6 1/2\".
