Abeautifully clean antique Victorian slim brown crocodile leather wallet/card case with 4 sterling silver corners. Each silver corner is hallmarked with thelion passantfor England, the anchor forBirminghamand the date letter which is I believe is an ornate\'v\' in an oval makers mark is hard to read but I think it isW.R.C(William Richard Corke).The inside of this purse is made of pale brown soft leather with matching raw silk and is remarkably clean for its age (over 120 years old!). Although the wallet has some flaws (see CONDITION REPORT below & photos), I think itis also still strong enough for use, which is quite unusual for a wallet of this type and age.
Measurements (approx.):10.5cm x 7.0cm x 0.5cm.
CONDITION REPORT:Goodto fair antique condition for age (over 120 years old) -pleaseexamine pictures closely-in case you spot some thing else I have missed in addition to thefollowing: the following - age related patina, wear and mild cracking to the outerleather. The ends of the leather has been reinforced with hand stitching at some point (see close up pictures), but most of the rest of thestitching is intact aside from another area of hand repair inside (see photos). The inside is very clean for it\'s age. Ideal for the collector, prop, museum or display but is also still strong enough for use, which is unusual for a wallet of thistypeand age.
Please examine the pictures closelyas they form part of the description and as with all vintage items, they will not appear as new and some degree of normal wear is to be expected.
