Here is a great find, one just right for a collection.
This is a black powder ball mold, very, very old. An expert on weapons and history estimates it is between 1780 to the 1840\'s, possibly French or American. It does not have a cutter, but the pour hole is is tapered outward. He feels from the inside measurement that it is .69 caliber. Amazingly, he felt that if it were cleaned up a bit, it could still be used as an active mold, but the value of this piece is probably better if it were simply displayed. Measures almost 7 inches long.
Very lightweight, but the actual shipping weight will be about a pound, with proper packing and protection. Check my photos for full descriptions of this great item.
