This is a lovely and fine antique Sterling silver model 298 Swing Handle Basket made by Black Starr & Gorham. The basket has really nice \"Pierced\" decoration, and measures about 4\" tall not including the handle. With the handle fully up, it\'s about 6 1/2 inches tall, and weighs just under 102 grams.

The basket is in good condition overall with a couple of minor dents in the side (see picture), but they are minor and don\'t really detract from the overall look of the piece. Very nice condition considering it\'s age.The bottom of the basket is hollow (is open), so I suspect this basket may have originally come with a cobalt glass insert. No matter, the basket is lovely as is, and is polished and will look lovely in an antique silver collection.A lovely and rare sterling basket!
