DESCRIPTION OF THIS ITEM:

Vintage A. B. Sands & Sons NYC hand operated brass bilge pump. This pump is constructed of all brass except for the wood handle and the steel pin through the handle.(Important-- see this item’s condition commentary in the following paragraph below) MY COMMENTARY ON THE ACTUAL CONDITION OF THIS ITEM:

This pump is structurally sound and functional. I tried the pump, it works but the amount of water expelled was limited. It certainly wasn\'t a high volume stream. The pump has 2 balls inside the tube that look to be original;I don\'t know exactly what they do. The brass parts are undamaged all the treads are fine---the wood handle is solid except on end (see pictures) there is a sliver of wood missing. OVERALL CONDITION STATEMENT:

I use care in packaging your item. To date, I have had only 1 damaged item, and no lost item claims. Insurance is included on item valued over $500.00.

I don’t offer FREE Shipping because it is a fallacy, there is no such thing—so don’t be fooled. encourages sellers to offer free shipping and include that cost in the final price. I don‘t agree, I am not trying to make you feel good, I am simply selling something. I charge the actual shipping cost plus $1.50 to $2.00 when necessary to cover materials used in packaging which is included in the shipping price when you look at the item’s shipping cost. I tend to reuse boxes to save on shipping cost. In some cases, it might not be the best looking package but your items are securely packed and will arrive safely. In most instances I use USPS for items under 4 pounds, and FedEx over 8 pounds.
