This is an old box in lovely original condition.

It has a few light dings and it needs a better clean but it is still a lovely piece

It is an Antique Solid Silver Box which was made in Chester in 1898. I am not sure of its original purpose

It measures 3 1/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide and it is 1 3/4 inches deep (weighing 83g).Most sides of the box have elaboate relief of floral scenes and I have shown them all in the picturesBoth the lid and the body have silver hallmarks which are a bit rubbed but they can be read. There is also a \"N&H\" makers mark for Nathan & HayesThe hallmark is as follows - Lion mark and the mark for Chester and the date letter \"P\" ( 1898 I think)The lid fits nicely and the hige is intact. The lid rests slightly above the lip of the base.
