Beautiful Arts and Crafts Hans Jauchen Vase Signed Art Work

HANS JAUCHEN BRONZE VASE.

DISTINCTIVE LILY AND TRUMPET SILHOUETTE. GORGEOUS NATURAL PATINA.

DOUBLE LEAVES. OUTER LEAVES ARE CURVED AND GRACEFUL. BASE FEATURES SCALLOPS, BALLS, AND 4 SCROLLING LEGS.

DIMENSIONS: 3 5/8\" Mouth Diameter x 10 3/8\" Height x 4.5\" Base Diameter X 7 Lbs!.

Estate find, this is a lovely original Hans Jauchen Bronze and Copper Vase. Arts and Crafts Style, I am told that the vase is made of bronze with a copper overlay. Beautiful verdigris patina, great detail on vase which has layers of leaves folding outward, and a very nice decorative scrolled base. The scrolls are attached to a round flat circle base that is signed on the bottom \"Jauchen, Olde Copper Shop\" Very good antique condition, there is a little bend on the bottom edge that you can see in the picture.

BIO- ASKART:

Born in Hamburg, Germany on Feb. 26, 1883. Jauchen studied for four years at the Hamburg Art Institute. After settling in San Francisco in 1910, he established the Olde Copper Shop at 967 Sutter and taught art metal work at UC Berkeley and Stanford. He remained a resident of San Francisco until his demise on March 10, 1970. Exh: PPIE, 1915 (gold medal). In: Golden Gate Park (bust of Roald Amundsen).
